THE CACPS BOARD
The
Board of the Commission
For Advanced California Paralegal Specialization ("CACPS")
is comprised of seven members and the Chair of the CACPS
Advisory Board. Three positions on the Board are filled
by paralegals who are California Advanced Specialists,
Two positions are filled by attorneys who are admitted
to practice law in the state of California or California
judges and the remaining two positions are filled by
educators committed to the advancement of the California
Certification Program. Board members serve staggered
three year terms and attend three meeting a year during
which the board reviews testing and administrative
issues as well as marketing efforts.
The
Board works closely with its Advisory Committee which is
comprised of paralegals, educators, attorneys, placement
professionals and others interested in the advancement
of the paralegal profession and certification in
particular. The Chair of the Advisory Board is a
paralegal chosen by CACPS and elected by the Board of Directors of the
California Alliance of Paralegal Associations.
Members of the Advisory Committee are
selected by the CACPS Board. The Advisory Committee is
a working group that advises the CACPS Board on
marketing and administrative matters, assists in making
marketing presentations and with various other
assignments given to the committee by the CACPS Board.
